 To get rid of the stain you can prepare a mixture of 2 tbsp. ammonia and a cup of water. Dip another terry towel in the mixture and then blot with it the stain. Continue blotting until no more acid is coming from the carpet to the cloth.

 If you are lucky, at this point the battery acid stain will be gone. However, from time to time it will be still visible and in this case you will need another solution. This time you should mix 1/2 tsp. of dishwashing soap plus one 8 oz. cup of hot water. Press gently onto the stain until it is eliminated.

 Once you have used the second mixture to clean the stained area, next task is to rinse using cold water. Right away blot again with a terry towel to remove the moisture.
