How To Control Bed Bugs Easily And CheaplyThis article examines the threats posed by bed bugs and how to get rid of them without too much trouble. Bed bugs are no doubt a huge nuisance to the average homeowner. For those that don’t know, they are small flat parasitic insects that tend to form large infestations in bedding and other furniture. They survive by coming out at night while the occupants of a bed are asleep and biting them, then feeding on their blood. The saliva that they inject to keep the blood from coagulating until they get their fill can often cause a localized allergic reaction that leads to occasionally severe itching and red welts that can be unsightly and disconcerting to whoever is unlucky enough to be bitten. Because their nests are likely to be so entrenched in the bed, and because they have shown a startling resistance to many different kinds of pesticide, these insects can be a bit hard to get rid of especially for the first time sufferer of an infestation. The good news is that there are a few steps you can take that will ensure that you will be able to eradicate every single bed bug that is in your home, and sleep easily knowing that you aren’t the unwilling and unknowing buffet for a bunch of blood sucking insects. The first thing you will have to do if you find out you have fallen victim to these problematic pests is remove all the sheets, pillows and blankets from the affected bed. Try to be careful when doing so that you don’t jar too many bugs loose onto the floor especially if you have carpets as that can make further efforts at eradication more difficult. Once the bedding is removed, it should be washed in very hot water for no less than 30 minutes and then dried mechanically on high heat, again for at least half an hour. Doing so will kill all of the bugs that are attached to the bedding and will prepare the bed for the next step in the eradication process. The second step is to find and apply the appropriate bed bug spray (http://www.domyownpestcontrol.com/bed-bug-spray-c-39_98.html) or other bed bug control products. Most of these are designed to be applied during the morning, so that they have all day to work and dry before the bed is occupied again. Once you apply the spray you will want to keep the room free of pets and children for at least 12 hours. As always you should follow the manufacturer’s instructions on how to apply the product, and whether or not you will need more than one application to deal with the problem. Once the bedding is clean and the bed has been sprayed with
