So, your backyard isn’t the best in the world. Just grass and weeds, it’s boring, boring, boring! Well, don’t worry; here are some ideas to get your yard in shape and looking great!

If weeds are prevalent in your backyard, you might want to hire a landscapist to get rid of them, especially if you’ve been trying to do it yourself with no success. A landscaper will have a different approach to eliminate them, even chemical free options. You can find a landscaper almost anywhere; one is worth the investment.

Once your weeds are gone, you should consider planting a garden. Flowers and/or vegetables will brighten up your area and keep your yard looking beautiful. And, you’ll get the satisfaction of being a horticulturalist! Rose gardens are always good, as are patches of various vegetables. If you choose the latter, you’ll have a great treat almost every day as you watch your crops grow. Don’t put anything on them to keep pests away – enjoy them pesticide free and organic! You’ll be helping to save our fragile ecosystem that way.

Another idea is to build a deck. You can even do this yourself with a little help from your friends! Make a redwood deck, stain it so it’s water- and weather-proof and it will last forever. You can then get patio furniture, sun umbrellas and tables and chairs so that your deck is ready for entertaining! Adding an outdoor kitchen to it is also a great idea. You’ll be able to cook on your built in grill, and boy will your family and friends love this! Get a Fire Magic grill and you can add a searer to yours so that you can really lock in the juices of your meats – scrumptious!

If you have children, you can also put in a playground set, like ones with ropes to climb, cubes to crawl through and slides to go down. Watch out for swing sets, though, because they can be dangerous. Not only can a child fly off a swing, but also, if the swing set isn’t in place right, it could tip over. Or add a teeter-totter. What fun!

You can also bring in sports fun. Build a basketball hoop or put up a volleyball or badminton net. If you aren’t too keen on sports per say, try games like croquet, bocce ball or horseshoes. When you have guests overFeature Articles, they’ll have lots of fun – and so will you.

You can really bring new life to your backyard if you think about your options. Add one of these or all and you’ll have an amazing showpiece for family and friends!
