Installing a Door Chime

Do you need to have a new door chime installed? If so, don't spend a lot of money getting a carpenter to do it for you, because it is a job that is so simple anyone can do it.

If you have an entry that you feel needs a door chime, you really don't have to pay someone to install it for you, as long as you have a few tools handy, and you can read a few simple instructions. It is quite easy to install a door bell, and it doesn't take very long to do, as long as you have gone over the instructions carefully and know exactly what you are doing. If you are unsure, but you still don't want to hire someone and spend that kind of money, you may want to ask a friend or family member who is handy with tools to give you a hand.

Choosing Your Chime

You can get a door bell or alarm at your local hardware store, and there are many different chimes you can choose from. You may want to have the traditional “ding dong” chime, or, you may choose to have one that plays a cute little tune. Depending on the type of chime that you choose, the prices are going to vary, with the more musical chimes being the most expensive in most cases. Chimes also come in different designs. Of course, the chimes themselves are not in any special type of design, but the frames and buttons can range from extremely simple to very ornate, depending on your tastes.

Where To Buy Door Ringers

As we already mentioned above, you can buy a door chime at pretty much any hardware store. You can also find your door ringers in the hardware department of many department stores, or, if you cannot find exactly what you are looking for, you can always go online and search for one. Of course, you will not be able to hear what the actual chime sounds like, but there will more than likely be a detailed description of the kind of chime that will ring out when someone presses your doorbell. When you buy your door chimes, you will get a complete kit, with all of the wires and everything else you need to install it on your own, or have someone do it for you.

Using a Novelty Chime

If you are the type who loves to have fun, and you like to have odd little things around your home, than you may want to get yourself a novelty doorbell. These play various songs, and other sounds, including animal noises, such as birds chirping. You can even get a doorbell that sounds like a dog barking, which can be great if you are not home, because it may actually prevent burglaries when someone hears the barking of a dog.

Go online or to your nearest hardware store today and pick out a cool way for company to let you know they have arrived. If you like, you can get a door chime for your front door, and for your back doorFree Articles, just in case you have family and friends who visit and don't always come to the same door.
