Moving can be exciting and exhilarating but it can also be frustrating,Moving Tips to Prepare You for the Big Day Articles pressure filled and an instant zapper of energy. To make your relocation simpler whether you are moving across the city or to another state, follow this checklist of things to do as you prepare for the big day to arrive.

Two to three weeks before the relocation fill and then transfer all of your prescriptions. Pack them in the bag that you will be taking with you when moving day rolls around.

During the same time period, arrange for the shipment of your pets as well as your plants. If you will no longer be using the same vet then obtain your pet’s immunization records.

When you have only one week left to go this is the time to pack certain items in your vehicle. This is also the time to dispose of the perishable items in your refrigerator and to take down all of your curtains and rods, and all of your shelving units.

This is also the time to gather together all of your valuable items including your jewellery and personal records, etc. Pack them as safely as possible and make sure you leave them in a visible spot in preparation for relocation day.

Have your car serviced if need be and make sure that your proof of insurance is in your car. This is particularly important if you are moving a fair distance away from your present residence.

This is also the time to go outdoors and drain the fuel and oil from all of your power equipment including your lawn mower. You also should drain your water hose at this time.

In preparation for the move make sure you have packed a box of all of the essentials you will need upon arrival at your new place. This includes cleaners, cleaning cloths, a box of tissues, a roll of toilet paper, liquid soap, tools, and anything else you deem as vital. Load this box last into your car or the moving van so it will be one of the first things to come off once you are at the new location.

On the big day pack your suitcases and leave them near the front door. Take all linens off of the beds. Check items off on the inventory sheet that you will given by the movers or the one you created for yourself.

Before you leave the house for the last time do a walk through with the head mover. Ensure that every light has been turned off and that every window is closed. Make sure that all closets, cupboards and drawers are empty. Finally, make sure that all doors in the home are locked when you exit the residence.
