However many people really don't think of a bathtub as anything more than an oblong thing to hold water in, and that's a shame, because with the range of bathtubs available on today's marketplace it is possible to transform the look of the bathroom by buying one of the many various shapes now available, and also transform the bathing experience. One of the main types of bathtub that has increased in popularity in recent years is the corner bathtub. The reason for this is that a corner tub can be a real space saver, something which can be essential if your bathroom happens to be on the small side. A good thing is that many of these tubs still enable you to have a really good soak, particularly if they include a seat as part of the design.

As well as looking at a tub that can fit in the corner, it may also be a good idea to look at something which doesn't save space but which can really add to the attractive look of the bathroom as a whole. Something that can be worth considering is a freestanding bathtub, which can be anything from the old style and traditional clawfoot models right through to some of the more modern innovations which use a freestanding design in an aesthetically pleasing way. Some of the more modern types include freestanding tubs that fit on a pedestal, and although they take the overall shape from the old clawfoot model, they still have a look of modernity about them, something which should be considered if your bathroom is done in a contemporary style.

As well as the shape and style of the bathtub, don't forget that there is more to a having a bath and simply sitting in hot water. Nowadays fitting a Jacuzzi bathtub is much cheaper than it used to be, and although it is still more expensive than a normal bathtub it is something that many people are considering, especially since more people are coming to understand the benefits of hydrotherapy and how great it can make you feel.

The next time you're looking for a new bathtub don't think oblong, but take a look at some of the many amazing shapes and styles that are on today's marketplace and choose one to suit your budget.
