First you will need to collect together all that you will need. Making a stuffed animal does not require a lot and most of the items needed you can be found within your house. You will need to put the following items, an old woolen cloth, sewing thread and needle, scissors, chalk, two buttons and an old t-shirt that can be torn into rags. Once all this is in place, start by cutting the woolen cloth into two equal halves. Turn both pieces the other side so that the inside out side is on top. Outline with chalk the image of the animal you want the stuffed animal to take by drawing the front side on one piece and the back on the other. Remember to make the drawing large enough as you will need stitching allowance of about one inch.

After this, cut out the shape using your scissors as straight as possible. You want your lines to be neat so that the final product does not look crooked. The next step in making the stuffed animal will be to sew the two materials together. Start from the head making your way towards the bottom. Before closing it up, leave enough space to put in the stuffing. Remember you can cut this from old cloths or buy them from the toys stores. Do not fill it to a point where stitching the remaining part will be difficult. Just make sure it is stuffed to the right capacity. Sew up the remaining part then sew the two buttons where you marked the eyes. You could make decorative stitches to resemble the mouth. And that is how to make a stuffed animal from the comfort of your home.
