Sunrooms: Tips For Decorating

When it comes to decorating sunrooms you need to find a style that fits the intent of the room and fits your needs for comfort. Read on to learn more.

When it comes time to decorate your sunroom the options for furniture and style are limitless. Since a sunroom by its very nature is enclosed and surrounded by windows you get the best of both worlds without the fear of the elements harming your décor. That means you can use either indoor or outdoor furniture or even a combination of both to make your room both inviting as well as comfortable.

Rattan wicker is a durable material for outdoor furniture and you can find whole furniture sets in this sturdy but beautiful material including chairs, lounges, love seats and tables. On the downside it isn't as cozy to sink into as your living room furniture because it lacks the same degree of padding as your traditional indoor couch.

If you plan to spend a lot of time relaxing and using your sunroom as a quasi-family room you might want to opt for more traditional indoor furniture to relax in. You can mix and match your styles by combining the comforts of indoor furniture such as your couch, love seat or chairs with outdoor or wicker tables including an outdoor table set for eating your romantic meals while watching the sunset or rise, as your sunroom orientation dictates.

Ideally your sunroom should retain its intent to be a semi indoor, semi outdoor area and that means you should opt for wood floor or ceramic tiling. Carpet really takes away the intent of the room and makes it more of an enclosed part of your home and less an enclosed part of the outdoors.

You can dictate a country style by painting your wood floors with a washed out white look and build your decorating style around that to create an inviting country look that is always a popular style to decorate for.

If you want something less country you can opt for ceramic floor tiling to create a more modern but inviting look. Ceramic floor tiling is easy to clean, low key and comes in a wide variety of colors and styles to choose from so you can create just about any decorating scheme you want from the ground up with tile.

You should also invest in some window coverings that you can utilize to protect your privacy or to screen out the sun when it gets to sunny in your room. Avoid going with traditional blinds or curtains because this will distract from the look you want your room to have and make it to indoors like. Roll down wicker blinds are a good option for sunrooms, either inside the room or outside of it or you can opt for white cloth blinds that can create a soft diffused look inside the room.

Finally ensure that your room, regardless of the style is comfortable and inviting to serve its main purposeArticle Search, which is to have a relaxing room to enjoy the sun in without benefit of being bitten by every crawling and flying insect in your yard.
