Twitter: The New Bollywood Film Awards Platform!
The virtual world is becoming the real world lately, and the Twitter world too is getting totally transformed into our real world!
Obviously not in the physical sense but definitely in the sense of the participation of the Twitter users! So now,
Twitter has its own Bollywood Awards, with Tweeple as the judges and Tweeple as the voters, and again Tweeple as the award ceremony spectators!
The various questionable practices that are inseparable parts of various film award ceremonies have made them quite skeptical in the eyes of the audiences and Twitter the revolutionary micro-blogging site of the present digital era has made it quite necessary to have a new way of film award ceremony!
Just think about it, when tweeple can manage funds for Haiti earthquake or the Gulf oil spill, when tweeple can help their favorite sports celebrities cheer up during their tough time in matches, and when tweeple can come up together for any other cause, coming up for Indian film award on Twitter platform doesn't sound impossible at all!!
Tweeple Film Awards or Twi-fi Awards has come up as a new generation of Bollywood Award giving procedure! It is a Twitter account that started on the very first day of this year, i.e. on 1st of January 2011 and it already has more than 1650 followers.
The rule and the criteria of the awards are on the basis of discussions conducted on Twitter involving film enthusiasts and other film loving tweeple. The jury of notable film experts and critics will take forward this innovative venture. The film critics and experts nominated for the jury include names like Rajeev Masand and Anupama Chopra, chosen by the Twitterati. They will move forward the venture by choosing the films for the awards under pre-selected categories.
This venture is going to display democracy at its best as it is totally based on voting. Films and the final category list, etc will all be decided on the basis of votes. Interestingly, the Tweeple Film Awards will not just decide the films and hand over the awards but will also have a gala ceremony at its best but the day, date, and time of the award ceremony are yet to be announced!
