Many times when you are installing the network adapter or router you don’t properly insert the card or the CAT5 wire all the way in. This will cause no connection at all. So the first things that you should check is that the network card is correctly inserted into the PCI slot, and that the CAT5 wire is also inserted properly into the router as well as the computer. If you have limited connectivity then this is not going to be your wireless network problem, so let’s move on.

Wireless network problems can be very tedious when the problem lies with your router. If you haven’t tried to reset your router then you should do so now. You will need to hold the reset button down for the recommended amount of time that is suggested by the router manufacturer. This will put your router settings back to the factory settings. Now if that didn’t work then here is where it gets tricky. There are many different things that can interfere with your wireless connection. Some of them will be easy fixes while others will not be as easy. Cordless phones are one of the most common interferences, because they usually use the same frequency as your router uses. You will notice if you are on the internet and then use the phone the connection will get dropped and you will no longer be able to use the internet. The way to fix this is by getting a cordless phone that uses a different frequency such as 840 megahertz instead of a 2.4 megahertz.
