Bring A Camera With You

Having a camera to snap photos of the interiors and exteriors of the apartment communities you visit will help you jog your memory loose when you cannot recall exactly where you have been. Be sure and photograph the rooms in each unit. Some potential renters may visit 10 properties or more. And without photos, it makes it very difficult to remember where you have been.

Many communities will provide you with brochures, but most of the time is does not include all the information you really need to make a decision.

Your Cell Phone

If you plan on using your cell phone as you main source of communication, be sure and bring it with you on your visits, Make calls from the apartment unit you may lease. Walk through each room and make sure you reception ins clear.

You don’t want a surprise of poor service or dropped calls after you have signed a lease. 

Tape Measure

This is a must for renters that have furniture that has certain dimensions that might present some trouble upon move in.  Be sure and also ask the leasing agent if they have the specific apartment dimensions for your unit that your interested in.

Apartment searches can be conducted on the computer today. There are many sites that can lay out apartment in specific areas in the city and include pricing, floor-plans, and photos of the community.  

You can also bookmark those sites in case you want to come back and check square footage and pricing.
