How to Edit The Homepage on a WordPress Site

Since the homepage of your site is that will make the first impression of each visitor, for most, it's the most important part of the website. And why it's important to invest some time and energy in that.

Most of the people get disappointed by a lot of themes. Because most of these use the default blog homepage. In most cases, this is not what represents a brand better so it's required to set u a custom static page. A custom homepage will let you show and represent your site better will all its features and redirect the visitors to take the appropriate action. If it's set up right can be a huge source of email subscribers, leads, and customers.

So to start things up the first thing that you will need to do is to create a new page. On your dashboard go to Pages > Add New and make a new page. Choose a random name. Before the next step, you might check your theme documentation because some themes require just a black page and in some other cases you have to build your homepage by yourself.

After you have made your blank static page, next is to set it up as your homepage. For this on your dashboard go to Settings > Reading and change your homepage displays for "Your latest posts" to "A static page". Also here you can choose a "Post Page" as your homepage in case you want to display your latest blog post in front.

The next step is to customize your blanket page. To do this on your dashboard go to Appearance > Customize. As mentioned before some of the themes won't provide the option to have a content homepage. And if this is your case you will have to create the homepage yourself either by using the WordPress editor or by using a page builder plugin in case you aren't good at web design and don't have coding skills. Some of them offer free versions with a lot of customization options like Elementor, Beaver Builder, Divi BuilderFree Articles, and many others.
