Create a Formal Occasion

A great way to introduce a bit of dress up in your life is to introduce a formal occasion. Have your significant other buy tickets to see an evening opera or performance. Plan a formal dinner before or after and then get busy shopping. You will need a cocktail dress and all of the necessary accessories and foundation garments. Start shopping and play Pretty Woman for a bit as you pick through the dresses available by trying them all on. By the time you’re finished, you will have a beautiful new dress, new shoes, a new handbag and a new appreciation for just how much fun playing in the dressing room can be.

Make Your Own Game

Even if you don’t have a formal occasion to shop for, you can still entertain yourself well playing at the mall by looking for any sort of outfit. You can make up your own special occasion or just a daily game if you have a few hours to kill. Define a purpose for your trip and get started shopping. For example, if you have a special barbecue coming up with friends, make it a goal to find the most current and comfortable outfit you can find and then try on things until you find something you really love. Too often we resort to grabbing things without the joy of spending hours trying things on and searching for the perfect accessories and shoes. Make every outfit a game to get.
