The nature of Dark Web, Deep Web and Surface Web

Though the defination and nature of Dark Web and Deep Web is different, they all are invisble from the surface web. The use of surface web is very few in compare with the other web. But, it is safe to use the surface web if you are not expert in other webs.

According to the records of the Narcotics Control Bureau in the period 2015 to 2017,The nature of Dark Web, Deep Web and Surface Web Articles four cases were registered by various drug law enforcement agencies in which 'dark net' was used for sale and purchase of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances.

Dark net

There are many websites on the Internet which are beyond the scope of commonly used search engines like Google, Bing, and general browsing. These are called dark net or deep net.

Unlike normal websites, it is a network that is accessible to select groups of people and this network can only be accessed through a specific authorization process, software and configuration.

The Information Technology Act, 2000 provides a statutory framework for addressing all types of cyber crimes prevalent in the country. On coming to notice of such crimes, law enforcement agencies take appropriate actions according to this law.

In terms of Access, the Internet is divided into three parts.

Surface Web

Surface web is the part of internet which we usually use in our day to day work.When searching on Google or Yahoo, we get search results and no specific permission is required for this. Such websites are indexed by search engines. Therefore these can be accessed through search engines.

Deep Web

These cannot be accessed only with the help of search results of search engines.To access a document on Deep Web, you have to log in by going to its URL address, for which the password and user name will have to be used. Such as Gmail account, blogging website, government publication, academic database, scientific research, etc. are similar websites which are statutory in their nature but require administrator permission to access them.

Dark Web

Dark Net is the part of Internet or Dark Web that cannot be accessed from commonly used search engines.

It is used in illegal activities like human trafficking, purchase and sale of drugs, smuggling of arms.

Dark web sites are hidden with the help of Tor encryption tool so that they cannot be accessed by normal search engines.

A special browser tor (TOR) is used to access them, for which the term Onion Router is also used because it has a layer using a network of nodes as opposed to a single insecure server. -The layer-layer data encryption occurs. So that the privacy of its users remains.

96% of the overall Internet is made up of the Dark Web, while the Surface Web is only 4%.A website called Silk Road Marketplace is a famous example of the Dark Network on which various types of illegal items including weapons were bought and sold.
