What Are Facebook Covers and How Can You Use Them?
Facebook is changing its user interface with a new Timeline feature and the new concept of Cover Photos has been introduced. Lets have a look at their main features and what they mean for us.
Let's try and understand better what the concept of Facebook Covers means for us, the daily Facebook users. The announcement about the implementation of the new Facebook Wall feature came with a few explanations, but I will explain how you can make the most of it.
Basically, the cover is represented by the wide photo at the top of the Timeline. It gives you the option of choosing from uploading a photo from your computer or choosing one of the Facebooks template pictures. It is not the same thing as your profile picture, since the profile picture is located in the bottom left corner of the Facebook Cover. The Facebook covers have a great importance, since a single photo could say a lot of things about yourself, things hard to be described by using words. Either if you are in love, single, happy or sad, involved in a certain cause or you simply want to promote an idea, this new feature, the Facebook covers, can make expressing yourself a lot more easier.
This new design makes the Facebook User Profile look more as a magazine, with a big picture covering the top of your page. It actually resembles the header of a website, one that you can easily switch whenever you like. If you are being creative, you can change this picture so it will show your mood, things currently happening in your life or anything else that better describes you.
Users are saying that a unique and individualized Facebook cover gives them a better experience when they are viewing your profile. It helps them learn more about you and it also helps avoid fake profiles, spam and other content that disturbs the Facebook users. And what is the best way to make sure that your cover image is unique? A very easy way is to choose photos from you life, like wedding photos, a day in the park, or birthday party photos. You can even try and show your creativity by using something great from your graphic design course or artistic shots of your pets, cars, or whatever strikes your fancy. If you want to show solidarity for a cause by using a photo you can post an image or a status and star it on your timeline.
The bottom line is to be creative and always remember that you can rotate the photos based on your state of mind or things happening in your life.
