Thailand has a tropical climate which is basically high both in temperature and humidity; thus more suited for retirees suffering from arthritis. With this climate, they no longer have to endure the intense back ache brought about by shovelling snow and spreading salt on the driveway.

Cost of Living

The price of almost everything in Thailand is relatively cheaper compared to that of the United States of America as well as the European countries. The rental rates of apartments and condominium units are fair as well although the dues are higher for buildings located in cities such as Bangkok and Pattaya.

Retirees are given priority by the Thai Immigration. They are issued a special visa known as "O" Thailand Retirement Visa which are presently given by the Royal Thai consulates and embassies abroad.
