Rich and famous celebrities commit crimes,Celebrities Who’ve Needed Criminal Defense Articles get caught and need a good criminal defense lawyer just like average citizens. Some individuals think that if you’ve become a smash hit at the box office, on stage, in print or on an athletic playing field, the world is your oyster, right? And with all the money in the world, why would a person do something so stupid as to commit a crime? It all goes to show that all humans make mistakes and are led astray due to addictions, mental hang-ups, jealousy, anger issues and more. Here are a few celebs who had a streak of the bad guy in them.

- O.J. Simpson: The famous “If the gloves don’t fit, you must acquit,” was a brilliant criminal defense tactic used by his lawyer, Johnnie Cochran, in the murder trial of O.J. Simpson. Even though there was lots of evidence to show that O.J. may have murdered his wife in a jealous rage, he wasn’t found guilty. Years later, he was arrested again for a robbery scenario in Las Vegas.

- Snoop Dogg: Snoop Dogg was arrested for being involved in a murder that involved his bodyguard and another person. He was also defended by O.J.’s lawyer, Johnnie Cochran, and was released with a not guilty verdict.

- Gig Young: Gig Young was a famous actor who even won an Academy Award. He was married multiple times and at age 64 married a German woman who was four decades his junior. After they’d only been wed a few weeks, he perpetrated a tragic murder/suicide.

- Don King: Don King was a boxing promoter who was arrested twice for murder. Once he got off with a “justifiable homicide” charge and the other time he was convicted of second degree murder and served time in the penitentiary.

- Sid Vicious: The bass player for the Sex Pistols lived up to his name, apparently, after stabbing his girlfriend. He alternately confessed and claimed no memory of it. He was a known heroin addict who overdosed a short time later.

- Phil Spector: Spector produced the records of an array of famous icons including Tina Turner and the Beatles. A woman was killed by gunshot in Spector’s mansion and he was charged with it because he had a history of pulling guns on individuals.

- Robert Blake: This actor starred in the hit TV show “Baretta” for many years as well as several films. He married a younger woman who was known for blackmailing older guys for money. When she was found murdered, Blake was charged.

- Jennifer Capriati: Jennifer was a talented athlete who was famous on the tennis courts. She ended up getting into trouble for shoplifting and pot smoking.

It doesn’t matter how much money a person has or if they are stars or starlets. They are still human beings who make mistakes and get caught. When celebrities do drugs, kill people, shoplift or more, they need to contact a stellar criminal defense team to get them out of trouble.
