The UK Tier 5 Visa Program Is Easier to Understand

It Used to Be Harder

Several years ago, this visa was much harder to receive. It used to be called the Working Holiday Visa, and it was made up of 80 categories. There wasn’t a specific set of requirements, making it hard for both the applicants and the immigration officers to understand the process.

All of this was changed in November 2008. This was when the UK Tier 5 Visa program was announced to the world. It was a surprise to some, since it was filled with changes. There were new restrictions and allowances, which is why many individuals use a visa agency to understand the process. Points-Based Visa System

The changes brought forth a points-based system. For the UK Tier 5 Visa, an applicant needs 50 points to qualify. The requirements are much easier to understand and the processing time is reduced. People liked how everything is much more transparent and filled with fewer bureaucracies.

Points are received in three categories. Thirty points is given for being from the countries of Canada, Japan, Monaco, New Zealand, and Australia. Another ten points is assigned if you are between the ages of 18 and 30. You can receive another 10 points if you have 1,600 GBP in the bank at the time of application.

Less Chance of Being Turned Down

Before the change, it was common to be rejected due to arbitrary reasons. It disappointed a number of applicants, especially when there wasn’t an exact reason for rejection. Today, the UK Tier 5 Visa has set requirements. These rules make it easier for people to know whether they should apply or not.
