The Portugal visa and the six-month renewable visa are not applicable to the family members who are bringing children to live in Portugal. This is because children following the age of 18 are not allowed to reside in Portugal without the consent of their parents. The Portuguese immigration authorities have certain rules and regulations to be followed by the immigrant but if they are followed, then they will be fine. The procedure to apply for the immigrant visa is very simple and the whole process takes less than two days. Those who have obtained the six-month renewable visa are not eligible for the tourist program but if they have obtained the three-month tourist visa then they can stay for ninety days.
