Trade show giveaways and conference promotions are one thing, but what kind of promotional items really capture attention at outdoor events?

Spring and summer bring everyone out of the woodwork to attend concerts,Capture Attention at Outdoor Events with Promotional Items Articles outdoor events and fairs. The promotional items that work at more sedate indoor conferences and seminars get lost in the busy, loud atmosphere of a traditional outdoor event. You need to choose promotional items that will get noticed.

Suit your promotional giveaways to the event.

Outdoor events call for fun promotional giveaways. This is the time to break out of the usual rules and go for the fun items. Bring along all your promotional literature and information, to be sure, but remember that most people are here to have fun. The more you can contribute to the fun, the more attention you’ll attract to your booth or table.

Build on the fun.

That means that this is the time to go all out with the gimmicky, inexpensive  and fun promotional items like balloons, Frisbees and boomerangs. Pick eye catching colors and put your logo on them prominently. Don’t neglect signage – a big banner with the same logo as the one on your promotional items will attract people to your display area to pick up one of those neat toys – and hear about your product or service.

Go for visibility.

If this is an informal affair, you can use the event to unload leftover t-shirts and other promotional items from events earlier in the year. Every t-shirt that you put on someone’s back is more eyes on your logo.

Serve cold drinks.

One of the things most in demand at any outdoor event is water. People get thirsty. At any summer event, the longest line is nearly always at the booth that is handing out ice cold water in printed promo mugs or cups. When people walk away from your booth with a promo cup bearing your logo, they’ll be carrying an advertisement for your business or cause.

Invest in inexpensive printed bags.

The one thing that no one thinks to bring with them to outdoor promotional events is something to put other stuff in. Informational affairs nearly always are crowded with organizations handing out flyers, leaflets and little promotional giveaway items – but almost no one ever spends a few pence each for a printed carry bag. If you do, you trump every other exhibitor at the event. Not only will everyone be carrying your logo around with them – they’ll be putting everyone else’s logo INSIDE yours where it isn’t seen. How’s that for a sweet deal?

A little advance planning can help make an outdoor informational fair or event just as valuable to your company as an indoor conference or trade show. Just think things through and be sure to order your promotional items with plenty of lead time – though an added bonus of outdoor events and fun items is that the lead time is nearly always far less than it would be with something more complex.
