Everybody likes walking away with something they don't have to pay for, especially your customers and employees. Your employees work hard for you and your customers are paying for your products, so why not make them happy with a few freebies along the way? You customers will feel appreciated and your customers will want to come back.

These things have been used a lot. So much that you may not even realize that what you have been using is a promotional item. If you just look at the ball caps that you own and the t-shirts you will probably see a lot of logo's on these items. They are on socks, shoes, kitchen items and other things. Everywhere you look you will see a logo if you try.

Think about how to promote your own business that way. Your employees wear T-shirts, ball caps and use all kinds of other products that can promote your business. Some can cost a few bucks, but most are cheap. You don't need to pay a newspaper to advertise your products as long as your customers and employees are using them in public. Even small things like key chains and small mousepads can get your name out there are they are very cost-effective.

People are thrilled when they are shopping with you and they get a free goodie to take with them. If you package some of a customers groceries in a reusable logo bag they will get such a kick out of that. This is a great advertising tool because you know that these bags will be used for shopping all over town. Basically you end up with a walking advertisement that goes right through your competitors doors.

When opening a new business it is smart to have some goodies for your initial customers. This will give them great incentive to come back and will give you some advertising as well. You could have some colorful shirts created to celebrate you opening. These would be worn for months and would show off your logo to people that are just hearing about your business. It is inexpensive long term advertising.
