Training in marketing or affiliate marketing is as important as any other field you get into. You don't just decide you're going to be a doctor or lawyer without the proper training. Any occupation you pick in life requires some type of schooling and making money on-line is no different. You have to learn the basics to get anywhere. How much training you get is totally up to you but in my option the more the better.
Lack of traffic is a real problem, no traffic, no sales it's as simple as that. You can have aw sum stuff out there but with no traffic it's worthless. If you are trying to make money you have to have people visit you and preferably come back again and again. Lots and lots of traffic is wonderful but if you are selling tomatoes you don't want people who are looking for cucumbers. Targeted traffic is what you're looking for. You want to draw people that are interested in what you have to offer. You get the idea!
Third on the list is drive. A lot of people just give up too soon. You are not going to make millions over night, just keep plugging at it. Make yourself a list of things you want to accomplish every day and stick to it. Discipline is everything, you are your own boss. You wouldn't want a slacker working for you so you need to stay on top of it. If you say to yourself everyday “Oh I'll do it tomorrow” guess what you'll never make anything.
