The following is a copy of a post I make on the Wealthy Affiliate forums 14 months ago. This 'article' is a bit off the cuff. But it demonstrates what newbies in the field can, do, and ARE going through regarding information overload-and how they can rise above the overwhelming aspect of it and become successful. I'M FREAKIN OUT!!! BIG TIME!!! MY HEAD IS BURSTING - I'M HAVING AN ANEURYSM!!! I CAN FEEL THE VESSELS POPPING

ok ok ok ... calm down Cliff... take a deep breath... that's it... now take another one... ahhh yes.... thaaaat's better. Now.... OK... think... think... think... what to do? what to do? I mean, I have to get SOME sleep. I can't give up the only 3 hours I'm getting now! What are they trying to do to me? I'VE GOT TO SLEEP! MY GOD, I HAVE TO SLEEP!!!

Whoa... eeeeeesy big fella.... take another breath.... ok ok think... think... Ok.... I got it..... I think I know what to do... maybe I know what to do.... I hope I know what to do... I pray I know.... (all of sudden I'm religious)

1) Maybe I'll take just one step at a time... baby steps... yeah that sounds good... yeah.... baby steps. I'll go slower... What's the rush anyway? Where am I goin? Cliff? yeah... that's the ticket... take it sloooow man... I'll just back off a bit...

2) Maybe as I get introduced to week 4, I'll head back to weeks 2 & 3 and begin reviewing everything there . I'll make sure that MOST of its understood. yeah, that's it!. Just MOST of it. I don't have to master ALL of it before I go on. Right? Right? Yeah, that sounds about right. I don't think Kyle or Carson think I SHOULD know all of it, knowing that I'm a newbie. Would they? Nahhhh... I don't think they'd be mad or anything? I don't think so... ok ok ok ok

I think that at this point, I should just have a basic understanding and just get a feel for what 2 & 3 are teaching. Right? Well.... that makes sense. (takes a little pressure off) I might even pop out a few articles or ads, or, even create a real bad landing page, (LOL) just to get my feet wet... Yeah... now I'm laughing a little... Good... humor is good... right?

And who cares if I did it wrong and don't make a penny... that's ok too... I didn't have that penny yesterday either..... so... go for it baaaaby......If I'm not sure bout things, I'll just hit the forums. Yeah.... I can't forget about the forums and my friends there.... whew... ok... I think I'm feeling a bit better.... (or maybe the two glasses of wine helped some, who knows?)

3) So... Now, I'll take just one or two of the subjects of week 4 at a time, as I do my previous 2 & 3 weeks review thing. Ok, that feels right... a little of the new.... while reviewing some of the old... yeah... I like that! I really do! Takes a little more pressure off.... sigh... now I'mmm REALLY cookin!

4) And Hey! How bout this? Do I have to keep pace with all the weeks, as they arrive? Do I have to finish week 4 by the end of week 4? Eyeeeee don't THINK so..... and they can't MAKE me anyway! LOL If I want to go slower and extend one of the weeks a bit longer (as long as I want to as a matter of fact - until I'm clear) I WILL DAMMIT! ahhhhh, that's good..... yeah, that makes me feel muUUUuuch better.

I mean, after all, what's the big deal? It's not like I'm going to be left back a grade if I don't finish it in a week. Nobody said I had to finish in a week anyway. I never read that on WA... So there! That's it! I can go slower..... absorb more ... ahhhhhh

5) Hey, I got another good idea... maybe I'll take notes on what I think are the main points. I'll print them out and make a WAU booklet of what I'm studying.... I'll carry this thing with me everywhere I go... and I mean everywhere! I'll read it on lunch & coffee breaks... I'll read it in traffic jams... I'll read it in the Doctor's waiting office... on jury duty... yeah man... I'm being creative nowwwwwwwwww!

I can even carry it to the 'can' with me... (If I ad up all my 'can' time.... yeah... wow!... that's a lot of reading)

And.. OH MY G-D!!! YES!!! During SEX!!!!!!!!! oh... oh...... wait... wait just a minute... maybe that's not a good idea.. (maybe that one came from the 3th glass)..... And anyway... that wouldn't ad up to much reading time anyway!

Ok, the good ideas are flowing now (well, most of them) with how I'm gonna handle all this info.....(some not so good - Huh?)

6) So, to collect my thoughts (what's left of them at this point) and put this into perspective... I decided that if I freak out and run for the door, I get bubkus! And I'll never know... I'll never know... but if I follow my plan, and it happens to take a month or two, or three, or four, or a year longer, hey... I could have a great story to tell one day, and i.... i.... I CAN BE A STAR!!!!!!!!! YES, FAME AND FORTUNE CAN BE MINE... ALL MINE MINE MINE!!!!! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA!..... oppppps, sorry, that might have been glass 4 talkin....

Anyway - looking forward to week 4 with great anticipation - and when I'm stuck - I'll beeeee baaaacckkk

The point my friends, is to 'take it slow'. There IS, a lot of information to learn in this field. If you push it, and push it out of desperation, you will fail. Remember the old riddle.... 'How do you eat an elephant'? 'One bite at a time'
