Language is a funny thing. So is search engine optimization strategy. In many ways,SEO: Language Is At The Heart Of Effective Optimization Articles SEO is a language. You just need to speak Google’s dialect.

And we all, in all industries, develop our own set of words and phrases to communicate with each other about the products and processes we are engaged in. It's a kind of shorthand, that, within our circle of associates, is quickly and unambiguously understood, but might as well be Martian to the uninitiated. It does not mean that the person you are addressing is inattentive, or ignorant if he or she happens not to understand what you are talking about. As a matter of fact, within his or her field of expertise, there may exist a similar "esoteric" language that seems as strange to you as yours does to them. Among Communications professionals, this is referred to as a "universe of discourse." If you happen to function outside of that universe of discourse, you might be as smart as Einstein, but you'll still not have a clue about what's going on.

What's the point? It's simple. When a website marketing agency is designing your website, think in terms of two things: the customer or the client that you are trying to attract, and in terms of the search engine the customer will employ to find the information or service he or she needs. Think not or yourself and the "lingo" which might seem so clear and obvious to you, but be so utterly opaque to the customer (or the search engine) that he will never be led to your site.

What terms, what phrases, what visual images is that customer liable to think of when searching for that widget or gadget you produce with such pride, and how, and where, in the site do you incorporate that special phrase, that striking image, that it will cause the search engine to lead the customer to your site. That’s the essence of effective search engine optimization strategies.

Along these lines, you have to think in terms of the most common, the most universal, the most descriptive terms you can; the ones most likely to be used by the greatest number of people as they search for what you want to sell. Not only will it drive more customers to your site; but it will impact upon the criteria search engines use to determine the order in which your website appears when that certain phrase in entered into the web search.

Think of it this way: does it really matter how relevant to the client's search your
website might be, if, in a long list of related providers, you appear on the second  or third page? The customer will, in all likelihood, pick the first page of results the search points him to.

What you have to do is make sure yours is on the first page of Google’s organic search results.

Quite a challenge! But it is not a challenge you have to face alone. The website marketing professionals at The Website Marketing  Agency will work closely within the initial website development and design, and in the continuing refinement of your site to make sure you're right out there, visible, accessible, and the one most customers are driven to, and most hit on, in their search for product and service.
