Mark had been in business for over ten years and in that time had built up his popular restaurant to be the place to go in Hartlepool. Last March he was finding business to be quite slow. People just were not going out to eat as much in the area and he needed to find a way of doing something about it.

He already had a large quantity of t-shirts that he had printed for special evenings and annual events in Hartlepool. They had always gone down very well so he thought he might take them around to local businesses to try to get their lunch and for that matter evening trade a boost. His head waiter had another idea: promotional stress balls.

They decided to shop around and find a company that could supply stress balls in the same shape as their t-shirts. He had considered food shaped stress relievers but somehow the t-shirt idea stuck because the shirts were very well known in the area. The shirts he had previously had printed were printed with his logo and details on the front and sleeve. This is exactly what they did with the stress toys.

Once printed, they took the stress toys around to all the businesses in the area along with a special menu. Stress balls are very popular so they were very well received. They took the stress balls around wearing the top quality t-shirts and promised a free half litre of wine and a free t-shirt to all who reserved a table of four or more for lunch or dinner. The promotion was a huge success. They even had to quickly order more to do the same promotion to businesses in nearby towns. This was not a problem as the only t-shirt shaped stress balls available were manufactured in Britain where a one to two week lead-time was all that was required.
