Network marketing is a polarizing concept; it's either adored or despised, with no middle ground. Over the years, I've dabbled in it, only to find myself hitting a metaphorical wall. The reason? The strategies employed by the successful network marketers, or "Heavy Hitters," are often starkly different from what they preach. Are they intentionally deceiving you? Perhaps some are, but others might simply be parroting what they've been told. Let's dispense with the scripts and, in the spirit of Pink Floyd, "Tear Down The Wall!"

Patience is crucial. It typically takes about a year for the true "Geometric Progression" to kick in. It's not surprising that:

  • Most network marketers quit within the first year.
  • A majority of network marketers fail.
  • Network marketers who persist for a year or more often become the new "Heavy Hitters."

Rule #3: Rapidly Expand Your Downline

Commit to recruiting a new member into your first level every day. This is important for two reasons:

  • Momentum is key to maintaining your dedication.
  • Only about 5% of your frontline members will contribute to building your downline.

Rule #4: Spend Most of Your Time Recruiting

This aligns with Rule #3. Many programs advise you to devote your time to training your downline to replicate your efforts. However, we're all unique. Some network marketers build downlines by mailing postcards, some excel at achieving top search engine placement, and others, like me, prefer using classifieds and email. You can't force your downline to mimic you; you can only assist them in developing their own system. Attempting to work with the 95% who won't take action will only give you a headache. Offer your help, and those who are serious will reach out to you.

Rule #5: There's No Secret to a Large Downline

The "Gurus" didn't single-handedly build those large downlines. They're no different from you or me. So, who built their downline? The answer is patience and geometric progression. A whopping 99% of a large downline is built by allowing "Geometric Progression" sufficient time to work its magic.

So, if you aspire to be a network marketing "Heavy Hitter," start recruiting now. Here's to your success!
