Imagine a world where you are the only player in your field, with no competition to worry about. This might sound like a fantasy, but in the realm of internet marketing, it's closer to reality than you might think. Let's debunk one of the most popular myths of the internet: the idea of competition.

The Reality of Internet Marketing

The truth is,The Illusion of Competition in Online Marketing Articles 95% of internet marketers don't make any money. Many are in the game for a quick buck, hoping to strike it rich and then move on. The majority of these marketers know what they should be doing, but they don't do it because it's too much work. They're always looking for a shortcut.

This phenomenon is not unique to internet marketing. Larry Williams, a renowned commodity trader, once shared a story that perfectly illustrates this point. When asked if he was worried that his trading system would become ineffective due to too many followers, Larry confidently replied that most traders would either modify his system, thinking they could improve it, or abandon it after a week or two in search of something else.

The Illusion of Competition

The same pattern is seen in online marketing. New marketers often believe they can outperform established names like Terry Dean, Ken Envoy, or Allen Says. They disregard their advice, convinced they know better. They also tend to jump from one product to another, always chasing the next big thing.

However, there are two instances when you can make money with a product with little to no competition. The first is when a product is newly launched. The novelty factor can drive sales initially, but after a few weeks, when every marketer starts promoting the same product, sales will inevitably dip.

The Opportunity in Persistence

This is when the "get rich quick" crowd jumps ship, leaving you with virtually no competition. These marketers are always on the hunt for their next million-dollar venture, leaving you alone to promote the product.

With new opportunity seekers coming online every day, especially during economic downturns, there's a constant stream of potential customers who have never seen your product. If you're one of the few marketers still promoting it, you have a golden opportunity.

By picking a few of these abandoned gems, you can build a steady income stream with minimal competition. Some might think this approach is too conservative or even crazy, but I prefer to think of it as playing smart. While others are swinging for the fences, I'm content just making contact with the ball.

Here's to your success in the world of internet marketing, where the competition is often just an illusion.
