Make your own wedding invitation

If you are planning a wedding, deciding on the invitations is necessary as it sets the tone of the whole event. It also is the first thing your guests see for the upcoming occasion. So your wedding invitations should be interesting and made in such a way that they catch their eyes and persuade them to attend. 

At such times when you want unique wedding invitations, it is best to make your own. Before you do this you have to consider a lot of factors included in designing the invites. One of these things is the style; this depends on your event. Are you having a traditional or a theme wedding? This should be seen in the invites. 

Once you know your style, you can easily make unique invitations. Here are some of the things you can think on: 

Shape

The best way to catch your guest’s eye is to think out of the box and select shaped invites. For example, you could use an umbrella shaped invite for a beach wedding. You can play with the basic concept of your design and shape your invites with your theme or also make something that interests both of you as a couple. Here are some shapes you could think of using:

• Couples, who are thinking of a monogram theme, can use the letters of the alphabet.
• Motorcycles, cars, trucks or any other vehicle shapes can be used for couples who travel a lot.
• For the animal lovers, butterflies, horses, dogs or any other cute animal could be used.
• Flowers, plants, leaves, etc can be used for nature lovers.

After you have decided on the shape of your wedding invitation, you can get the shape die-cut at any specialty shop. 

Materials

Another way of making your invitations attractive is to use different materials. The standard materials used are vellum, tissue and other texture papers. You can use materials other than the standard. Think about wrapping the wedding invitations with other materials than ribbon. For example: if you love horses or bikes you can use leather or if you both are athletes, you can use shoelaces. 

You could also create a collage of your engagement pictures as the cover of your invitation. You could also use the different image editors to get special effects in your images and use a single color theme for the whole of your wedding. 

Artwork

People who have a good hand at drawing and painting could put together an interesting invitation. You can have an abstract using the wedding colors on your invites or also a charcoal sketch of both of you. A painting based on your theme is also a good idea for a unique wedding invitation. 

High tech

Wedding invitation is not necessarily supposed to be on paper. You can also make a video with your own camera and any editing software on the computer. This way you can also make an impact on your guests and also make a very unique wedding invitation.
