The  function of a catering hall premises is to host a wedding reception or ceremony or parties.  Most of the function halls are owned by a catering companies or hoteliers.  There are companies which own a wedding or a catering but do not provide catering service. They only rent their halls for weddings, parties or corporate seminar. The rest of the functions have to be provided by different catering service including the food items.  Here the host has to contact all wedding vendors and accessory suppliers.

The halls most suited for social events, parties,weddings and banquets are the commercial catering halls which offer all services and full arrangements. Such catering companies are one stop shops for organizing a wedding or a party. They are most preferred for the hectic task of organizing a wedding ceremony or reception. 

The top caterers and their wedding planners do an excellent job of making the wedding functions a huge success. These halls cater to all kinds of services required from budgeted event to large lavish parties that the wealthy can afford. The added advantage is of catering venue and settings which are suited for glamorous occasion like birthday party or a sweet sixteen party that which requires greater pomp and show.  

There are function halls owned by a charitable institutions or clubs and fraternal organizations. The criteria of setting up a catering hall is that it should not act as disturbance to the neighborhood. Hence the locations are carefully chosen which are away from from residential houses or colonies.  In many instances the wedding halls  are owned by the community called as village marriage halls.  On many instances the community centers or public locations act as event halls for members to carry on their social activities and public functions.

The commercial catering halls are more preferred over community centers or charitable halls since they offer professional services. The commercial catering halls owned by top caterers are fully equipped to organize weddings or large parties in a short time. So if you planning to get married in a hurry then hire a caterer.
