Wedding Venues: Choosing the Right Location

When it comes to your wedding venues are one of the most important things you will consider. There is so much planning that goes into your big day. You want to choose the perfect location for both the ceremony and the reception.

Get your walking shoes on because chances are that looking at wedding venues will be one of the first steps in the planning process. It is hard to set a date if you don’t have a location and you need to make sure that your place of choice has your date available. So before you look at a dress, choose a cake, or even send out the invitations, plan to spend some time checking out some of the facilities in your local area.

Meet with a Representative

At each of the wedding venues you are considering it is important to meet with a coordinator. This person will not only be able to show you the property but also talk to you about the details that you need to think about as you plan.

Available Date or Dates

You need to find a place with your date available. You don’t want to find the perfect place and then find that you can’t have your ceremony until two to three years down the road. If you need a place within the next year you will need to start looking soon. Waiting until the last minute can be hazardous to your big day.

Number of Guests

Even if you don’t have an exact number it is important to have a ballpark figure for the number of people. If you find the perfect place but you have to cut the guest list in half, it might not be worth considering it as one of your possible wedding venues. Remember that you always want to overestimate the number of guests because it would be awkward to choose a wedding venue that will only allow for standing room only for the ceremony or reception.

Overall Feel of the Location

You want to walk onto the property of the location you are considering and feel good about it. Look around. Take into consideration what you guests are going to see when they arrive. You need to be comfortable and confident with the decision that you make. Take your time, walk around several times and make sure that you are in love with it.

Extra Amenities

Some locations offer extra amenities that are well worth an added expense. If catering is done on site it might make things a little easier for your reception. Check on cake cutting, rooms for guests, and even having the ceremony in the same place. If each one of these things would cost extra at a different location you can factor that into the price.

In the end the decision is completely up to you and your budget. While you may love the first place that you seeBusiness Management Articles, take some time to look at several different locations to ensure that you are making the right decision. This will be we worth your time.
