Christmas is such a wonderful time of year! With so many colored lights,Picking The Perfect Christmas Gift Articles sparkling tinsel, and pretty packages, it seems as though the world has magically transformed into a glittering paradise. It's also a great time of year because everyone wants to show the special people in their lives how much they are appreciated.

But have you ever sat down to think about what gifts to get that special someone in your life, and came up empty? Have you ever asked yourself the question, "What should I get for this person?" and realized that you really didn't know what would make a good gift? It seems that every year I hear at least a couple of people mention that they are in this quandary.

There are two basic principles that I use in choosing gifts, and using these principles has always guaranteed a great gift.

The first principle is that I focus on what that person enjoys, and what challenges they have been facing. If I know that my special person enjoys going to movies as soon as they are released, then I know that movie passes will make a great gift. If my special person enjoys golf, then something related to that sport will usually be most welcome.

By the same token, if I know that this person has been trying to do something with meager tools, then a gift of a better (or more specialized) tool will be the chosen gift. This doesn't have to be an expensive tool, just the right one. Maybe they need a basic set of handyman's tools, or maybe a glue gun for crafting.

Also on this same line of thinking would be the situation that the person you're shopping for has trouble in the winter with dry heated air. A humidifier (or even a vaporizer) would be received with shouts of joy. Maybe they have trouble with allergies in the summer. An indoor air purifier (many are less than $50) could be the best gift you could give.

And if that special person in your life is just floating aimlessly through life without a sense of direction or purpose, the best gift could be the gift of motivation or wisdom. Books are great gifts, especially if you know what the receiver is trying to do with their life (or would like to do with their life if they knew how). Along the same line are recordings, self-development courses, and videos.

The other main principle that I use to choose great gifts is psychic perception. If I just don't know enough about the person I'm shopping for, and I really don't know what they want out of life, I call upon my spiritual connection with all life (and with that, my connection with that person) to do the choosing for me.

Here's the reason this works. At a fundamental level, we are all connected. Connected so closely that we are virtually the same being living multiple lives. When we open ourselves to this connection, there is a synchronicity that can be used in many ways. For our purpose of choosing the perfect gift, this connection will tell us when we have the right gift in mind for the person we're shopping for.

And here's how to do it. The easiest way is to bring the image of both the intended recipient and the intended gift into your mind at the same time, after you've opened yourself to the infinite spiritual connection. With the connection active, and the images of both the gift and the receiver in mind, there will either be a harmony between the images or they won't be. If a harmony exists, the gift is the right one. If harmony isn't there, the gift isn't right.

The harmony you're looking for is more than a simple "do they seem okay for each other" kind of thing. It's more of "is there a sense of electricity with this combination" kind of harmony. If you get a sense of excitement when bringing the two together, then you can count on the gift being well received.

Just make sure that you've developed a strong connection to Spirit, or this technique won't always work. Without the spiritual connection, any excitement you feel will only be your own. You want the excitement to come from the person you're shopping for, not from yourself.
