Starting an effective article marketing campaign is definitely an intimidating task for any Network Marketer. Especially since MLM is a highly competitive niche on the Internet. And with so much poor information out there, I wanted to give some quality article marketing tips so that you can get your campaigns off the ground and snag that traffic you are looking for.
First, What are you selling? An affiliate product? A product of your own? Your MLM opportunity? Step out of your comfort zone and try to put yourself into your customer's shoes. What kind of keywords will they enter into a search engine to find your product?
Is it a specific word? Or is it a string of words, otherwise known as a key-phrase? Once you find a great keyword, it's time to research it to we can see what kind of traffic you might get from targeting that keyword or phrase. We also need to know how tough it will be to get on the first page of google.
Keyword Research: We can easily find out how much traffic and competition there will be for your MLM keyword by using google's free keyword research tool. You can find it at the google Adwords site.
Simply add your keyword into the research tool and it will give the approximate global and local monthly searches for that term. It will also offer suggested keywords that you may not have thought of before. If those alternate keywords get more traffic and have less competition, by all means, go for that one.
Competition Research: So now that we have the best choice of keywords, it's time to research the competition. I prefer to use free SEO research tools for this. And my favorite is Traffic Travis...
Traffic Travis is a great tool that you can use to research all the MLM sites within the first 2 pages of google search results for your chosen keywords or phrase. It will also tell you how many back-links those sites have pointing to them.
This is exactly what you need to know in order to try and rank for first page of search results. While there are many other factors involved with getting on the first page of google, back-linking to quality sites is a great start.
Create Your Content: And this is where your article marketing campaign starts. First you create a blog post or website where your readers will find your product. From there you use your keywords to create articles and other content, such as videos.
Keep your content informative and easy to read. Write in small paragraphs (2-3 sentences at the most, and use bold and italics where possible to break things up.
Start Submitting: Submit these articles to free article submission sites with high page rank. This is easy to find if you do a google search for "top article directories." You will find directories with "do follow" and "no follow" policies.
It is in your best interest to submit your content to a "do follow" site. These sites allow google and other search engines to follow and index the out-bound links (your back-links) back to your site. Without that, you have only wasted your time because you will not get a back-link, and that's our goal.
Repeat! From this point, all you have to do is keep submitting quality and original content and direct the quality link to your site, and you will see your site climb in the search engines. The more links that point to your site from authority sites, the more "popular" google sees it as being.
This "link popularity" is what gets sites rankes on page one.
Helpful Tips: Keep in mind that it's also very important to have your pages search engine optimized so that google will favor your site in the search results. So in other words, make it very easy for google to find, crawl, and index your site through proper use of keywords, H1 Taglines, and anchor text.
