Ways to Find Great New Music

Listening to music is a big part of life for many people, and for some serious listeners going without new music is torture. If you’re the type of person who has to find new music to listen to every week, then here are 3 tips on how to find new tunes that you’ll love:

 

1.  Listen to Internet Radio- If you are unfamiliar with Internet radio then you need to check out Pandora and Spotify, as they both offer radio features. What you do to get started is type in the name of a song or artists and the program with instantly load songs that are similar to the one you typed. A great way to take advantage of this is to create several stations based off the music that you like and then switch between them as you listen. There will be lots of songs played from other artists and when you hear something that you like you can star it to come back and find more later.

2.  Browse Spotify- One of the best features of Spotify is that on every artist page there is a link to “similar artists.” If you are looking for someone new to listen to then this is a wonderful tool for exploring new bands. Pick a band that you really love and then follow the link and start listening to some of the other bands that are classified as similar artists. You may just be able to stumble across a new favorite which could lead to years of enjoyment. What are you waiting for? Go give it a shot!

3.  Ask your friends for suggestions- If you are seeking out some new music then one of the best places to get referrals is from your friends. One of the best parts about asking your friends for suggestions is that there is a good chance that they will have similar interests in music to you (that’s probably one of the reasons why you are friends). You can also make it a point to ask those who you aren’t necessarily close friends with, but still know well enough to ask. Think about asking your friends on Facebook and other social networks so that everyone has a chance to give their two cents. By posting on Facebook, you may be able to get suggestions from people that you otherwise wouldn’t have thought to ask.

 

By following these 3 tips there is no reason why you can’t find lots of new music that you will love. Now there is no need to ever go another day without listening to something new and exciting.
