Global Health Issues seeks Public Attention

While media is busy in covering news reports and coverage of stock markets, world economies, and international war on terrorism, politics and other conflicts that raises their viewers. World news issues like global health often miss the mainstream media. Every year people affected from tropical and infectious diseases die in lack of cure. Though these diseases are largely preventable and curable, but due to lack of attention and spreading awareness of such methods, people are unknown to it. World news today is flooded with issues such as poverty and social condition of people that the growing economy has brought upon. Increased poverty and debt has resulted in forced cut-backs in health and education. Health education is an important quotient of development but seems neglected among countries. In the late 90’s initiatives were taken by global organizations to improve health issues, which was dominating and blocking the way of growth. Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunizations (GAVI) initiative started in 1999 was a huge success of that time. Being one of the first joint public-private partnerships to address falling immunization levels, it provided a great relief by providing vaccines to over 70 percent of poorest countries in the world. Still now, it is the largest global health campaign ever initiated for global health awareness. Other initiatives are also active in various countries by UN Global Health Fund. In latest world news the World Bank has also increased its funding for health awareness. HIV/AIDS in particular is the most spread and almost deadly disease in nature. In spite of focusing towards social development and poverty eradication, still fundamental problems concerned to health issues remain the same. Poverty has been stated as number one health problem for many poor nations. Failing to meet the resources for growing needs, people are tending towards sex mafia. Paying them well and good, people are finding it as an easy source of earning. Unaware of the health issues in indulging into unsafe sex, it is becoming the prime cause of several immune diseases. Root causes of diseases and health problems being less understood or discussed in World News today is causing lack of information among people. Pharmaceutical companies are also benefiting from these diseases by giving more improvisation on cures rather than prevention. Prevention is still by far the more concerned and cost-effective approach to these diseases. But, instead of this new drugs are invented for curing them at various stages. Though, prevention is not the solution for such arising health issues but it surely reduces the number of people getting affected.
