Here are the things that you should let your cabinetry company know about your kitchen TV:

• Dimensions-The most important thing to let your cabinet company know is the dimensions of the TV. You need to tell them the height, and make sure that includes any stand. The depth of the TV is also important because the cabinet may need to be specially made to accommodate the set. The width is also needed and not just for the TV but also all the components that will go with the television.

• Components-Make sure you know everything that is going to be included with the TV. For example will you need a cable or satellite box? Are you going to be hooking up a TiVo or DVD player to the television? This important for two reasons, first they will need to make the cabinet so everything can be accommodated. Then they will also be checking during the installation process to make sure that the electrician has installed the proper outlets need, and any cable wiring needed.

• The Design- Then next thing you should talk about is the design. There are two ways to go when incorporating a TV in the kitchen. You can either go with an open look where you can see the TV at all times or you can go with retractable doors. The retractable door option is a bit more expensive but it gives you the option to hide the TV behind doors when it is not in use.

When you are designing your kitchen you should know that you can quite easily have a TV incorporated into the actual design. Having the kitchen TV built into the cabinet design will add to the look of your kitchen and also help you save your countertops space.
