As with everything else in a good home, blinds too require proper maintenance and cleaning. This isn’t just because they need to look good, but, dirty blinds could spell health hazards for the family members too. Cleaning them is far more arduous than simply laundering curtains. The best part is you don’t even have to bother taking them down, and could clean them while they’re still hanging.

Roman blinds require much more care while cleaning than their fabric counterparts. The soap and water solution used to clean them should be milder, as these could get easily damaged with a strong solution. Always remove the strings and the dowels before cleaning. One of the most important things that one must bear in mind when cleaning Roman blinds is that you must use as little water as possible.

Faux and wood blinds are among the easiest to clean as they are known to be cheap and durable. Just power up the vacuum cleaner, and be on your way to clean faux and wood blinds! Once the dust is removed, you could use a wet, damp cloth and rub each slat vertically to get them looking new! For aluminum ones you could simply use soap, water, and a sponge.
