The more people coming into an office setting, especially a doctors office are bringing with them and spreading illness and germs. These bacteria can huddle in that environment. Offices can certainly use some sort of air filtration system, however, by placing attractive plants within the office they reduce air related illnesses.

Not only are some office plants known for air cleansing properties, they hold an attractive element of serenity and help to decrease stress levels among people. An attractive office plant adds an aesthetic value to a formerly bare corner or windowsill. When people feel good their work productivity increases. There are certain office plants that are known as air cleansing plants. Depending on how large the office area is these plants should be set about every 10 feet. It is a common fact that plants capture carbon dioxide from the air and their root systems release new oxygen into the air, which is why the plants roots should be kept clear. It is also very easy to over water a plant. Over watering can cause mould to develop and this would defeat any purpose that the plant holds in filtering good air.

Some plants are toxic to pets and children so make sure that toxic plants are not in reach of pets or children. There are about a dozen air cleansing plants to choose from. Five of these for example could be a blue daisy, an American rubber plant, Bamboo palms, spider plants and the Boston fern. These plants not only release clean air and detoxify the air; in their environment they release a certain level of humidity.
