I have never been one for quaint country life; to me it has always seemed so boring and too quiet. I have always been drawn to the buzzing hustle and bustle of busy city life. As I boarded the train for London I could barely hear the voice on the loudspeaker announce my boarding because of the passengers rushing,London: Overwhelming Opera Articles entering and exiting the trains. As I made my way to my seat, I took in the views of the city that I would be enjoying for the next few hours. There is something oddly peaceful about being surrounded by the buzz of busy people. As we entered the downtown, I was taken aback by all of the beautiful architecture and old world charm of the city streets. As I passed a number of Mayfair hotels I couldn’t help but imagine all sorts of lavish decor that was contained within. When I glanced at my itinerary to read which of the hotels in Mayfair that I would be staying at, and I was pleased to notice that in the evening there was an opera being performed in the theatre next door to my hotel. That evening as I heard the first note being belted out by the lovely woman on stage, I was transported to a completely different place. Her voice was so beautiful that I was overwhelmed with emotion upon hearing it. When the opera was finished I wiped the tears from my face and gave them a standing ovation. I couldn’t believe that such an amazing talent could come from such a small woman, and it truly inspired me. If something so magical can come from an ordinary person, what talents am I capable of? I was truly inspired to reach for the stars and never stop until I reach my full potential.
