Once again I am going against the traditional red. I am sure that I will get a lot of different opinions once this article is published because whenever it comes to weddings and barats in particular,The Ivory Bride Articles all we can think of is “RED”, a bridal outfit in red, or even if it’s not the bridal dress the color red always comes to our minds and we get carried away like most of our up-coming brides. All they can think of is getting their bridal outfits in reds and maroons. First of all it’s a dream since childhood and then an expectation of all the relatives and friends!

But I do know some daredevils who just want to make a statement and tell the whole world that they can look fabulous even in something that is not even close to red and the color I am talking about is ivory white. I am sure some of you must be having heart attacks while thinking of a winter bride wearing ivory and I won’t blame you as even I had found it hard to digest when my best friend told me that she had decided to wear an ivory outfit on her wedding day.

I tried my best to discourage her, but later when I saw the dress I fell in love with it instantly and started thinking what sort of makeup I’d do with that dress. Trust me when it comes to making a statement and looking different anything is possible; it could be an ivory outfit on the wedding day or a duppatta draped differently. Everything works when someone has decided to look different!

It’s very hard to educate even the literate that it’s not written anywhere that they have to have a red outfit on the main day or a yellow one on mehndi for that matter. To tell you the truth I’d prefer it if a bride wore a red dress on the mehndi as she won’t be wearing a lot of makeup that day. She can easily get away with a bright red outfit and pale makeup, like kajol in the eyes and lip-gloss. Even the yellow chrysanthemum jewelry goes really well with the color re. so why not look different on the wedding when the whole attention is on the stage and I am sure most of us agree that bright colors are a worn out fashion and once in a while it’s pleasant looking at a bold bride in any color apart from red and maroon.

I thought that words won’t be enough and some visuals to go with the article were needed. Thus, I requested a very close friend Saniya, to once again do me a favor and let me give her a makeover in an ivory outfit by SKR and beautiful jewelry in emeralds and lapis. Another interesting thing if you are wearing ivory is that you can wear any stone with it and eventually get your makeup done according to those stones. It looks very dramatic and also serves the purpose of getting your makeup done in the desired shade, as some times we love wearing blue outfits or likewise we like wearing red lipstick but don’t want to wear a red outfit.
