Keep reading to learn why this is. First of all, there will likely be all sorts of snacks and candies around the house during Halloween, especially chocolate. Unfortunately, chocolate is one of the most toxic substances for dogs. You certainly would not want your dog to develop serious health consequences just because you accidentally left a bag of chocolates lying around. If you have children in the home, it is important for you to educate them about this as well. They may just decide to feed their furry buddy a chocolate treat without knowing the consequences. Another problem when it comes to Halloween is all the noise. Children will constantly be coming to your home knocking on the door or ringing the bell. You can help negate this noise problem for your pet by putting background noise on like the radio or television. Your pet may not like strangers who come by to visit either. There will be plenty coming to the house on Halloween if you have the light on. Young child may also be out playing pranks so you may need to keep your pet inside and away from pranksters. With Halloween there will be tons of decorations around. Pets may mistake some of these decorations for toys or foods and accidentally swallow them. Depending on the particular object your pet may experience mouth pain, irritation, or excessive drooling. With all of these potential problems it may be in the best interest of your pet to provide a safe spot to go to. He should be able to go to this spot whenever he feels uncomfortable for some reason. The spot should have plenty of toys and food to keep him occupied. It may be even better to devote a whole room to housing your pet during Halloween. If you do not have a spare room available for this purpose at least find a nice dark corner the can retreat to. Halloween can be a dangerous and scary
