Having your Lab go through Labrador Retriever training is a smart move because afterwards, you can either use the dog yourself or loan it for the use of others who need it.  Many people make money from utility dogs.  After it is trained, all you have to do it take care of it and you are good to go.  Moreover, Labradors are the most in demand dog breeds to service utility use.  You can indeed make money from owning a dog.  Just make sure you take care of it and give it proper training.  You'll be happy you did!
