Keep Prayer Simple

Prayer does not have to be complicated. Here are a few examples of simple prayer and how it can ultimately bring power into your every-day life. Including several relatable scriptures which will reveal to you the beauty and benefits of prayer- time.

You often hear people concerned whether they are praying correctly. Should my prayer be longer? Is praying once a day enough? Is it better to pray morning or night?.....look, the good news is, there is no real formula, and there is no right or wrong way.......

You may not know how to pray. That's okay. Just spend some time with those who do. You'll soon learn that it's nothing more than carrying on a conversation with your closest friend. God desires to have a close relationship with you just the same way.

Dont worry I know how you feel. Back in my early 20s when I was battling through some painful times, I would gaze towards the sky, placing my hands together (like Id seen in the movies) and would say something like along these words " if you are real God? please help me, Im in a mess, my heart kills, my head hurts, nothing makes sense, I feel like crap, help! "

Have you ever prayed that way before, or cried out to God? well, God hears and answers those prayers aswell believe it or not, other wise I would not be here today. Can you imagine than, just how effective praying in faith would be! knowing you have a caring God who without doubt will come to your aid in trouble times, when you call on Him.

I have an amazine life as a result of daily prayer. I no longer suffer from constant anxiety and fear, I feel much healthier on all levels. The day you get that profound revelation of Gods love for you, you are no longer the same person. Gods warm presence is often felt and found during pray time.

I pray for 15-30mins in the mornings. I get up around 5am-6am not because Im as devoted as mother Teresa was, but because my little boys are up early. I have found praying first thing before I start my day, plays a huge part in my state of mind. I have more energy and peace, basically a positive attitude towards my day.

In addition, my boys know better to leave me in peace and complete my prayer time, other wise they will probably be dealing with a monster mommy for that day. Being a full-time mom of two small boys (most moms would agree) can get stressful. So, throughout my entire day, its common to yell out mini "help me now God", "give me more patience" , " help me be more gentle" you get the picture.

My night prayer is mainly of thanksgiving, thanking God for my family and every significant aspect of my life for that particular day. I have found the secret to effective prayer is to keep it real. Pray with your heart and not your head, God does not get impressed with fancy words, did you know that? keep it simple, but you dont want to hold back from going deep :-)

Simple prayer/ chatting with God has power beyond words. Remember, allow yourself to enjoy your time in prayer. Prayer has enriched my life and tens of thousands of people throughout time and it can do the same for you. I encourage you to begin today!

(Matthew 7:7-8)

"Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find;

knock and the door will be opened to you.

For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds;

and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened."

(Romans 12:12)

Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.

(Philippians 4:6)

Do not be anxious about anything,

but in every situation,

by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving,

present your requests to God.

(James 5: 13)

Is anyone among you in trouble? Let them pray.

Is anyone happy? Let them sing songs of praise.

(1 Kings 19:12)

After the earthquake came a fire,

but the LORD was not in the fire.

And after the fire came a gentle whisper.

Let your hand be with me, and keep me from harm

so that I will be free from pain."

And God granted his request.

(1 John 5:14-15)

that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.

And if we know that he hears us- whatever we ask-

we know that we have what we asked of him.

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just
