According to the bible a Christian is defined as a person living in tune with God’s desires and believing in Jesus Christ. A Christian believes Jesus Christ died on the cross and that one must be saved by accepting Jesus Christ as their personal savior. This is clearly stated in John 3:16,What Does It Mean To Be A Christian? Articles “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”Christians walk with God and talk to him daily through prayer and meditation. There are also rules that Christians abide by which were handed down to Moses as the ten commandments:

1) God is the one true God.

2) Do not take the Lord’s name in vain or you will not be held guiltless at the time of reckoning.

3) Sunday, the Sabbath, is to be kept holy.

4) Honor your parents and elders as they have much wisdom you can learn from.

5) No murdering.

6) No lying.

7) No adultery.

8) No stealing.

9) Do not covet others belongings.

10) There are to be no other Gods, idols, etc…

God handed these commandments to Moses in Exodus 20. According to the Torah the entire bible was given to Moses in its entire format without any spaces and this is where the idea of the bible code originated from. Much research is still necessary into the bible codes and its meaning for the rest of us.

So, to be a Christian is to live a moral and higher standard life. It is to forgive others for their wrongdoings and turn the other cheek. This importance of forgiving is evidenced in the Lord’s Prayer:

Our Father, who art in heaven, Hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, On earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, As we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, But deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever and ever. Amen.

Whether you are a Christian or not, it would be hard to argue against the fact that by following these rules one would have a better quality of life. Studies at the leading universities have documented that prayer and meditation lead to better health, reduced stress, longer life, and a better quality of life. Prayer, as documented in Readers Digest, has been proven to make oneself heal at a much faster rate from a variety of illnesses.

So, to recap, a Christian walks in tune with God’s desires. They have less stress as they don’t hold grudges and believe in forgiveness. They hold themselves to higher ideals and believe in helping one another and, especially, those less fortunate. Christians make the world a better place, regardless of whether we believe in their religion or not. They promote peace, harmony and love and shun hatred, racism, and greed.
