The company has announced that it will be automatically including call extensions in all the mobile Ads beginning from February 6, 2017 onwards.

Call Extension provided in Adwords is basically an ad extension and allows the people searching for specific terms on Google to contact the advertiser on their business phone number, which is provided as an easy click ‘to call’ button on the ad itself. Google has been emphasising since quite some time about the exponential increase in the number of mobile searches over the Internet.

Every business will not receive this update by Google. Only those businesses who have prominently included phone number on their landing page will receive this update. There are however varied opinions on this one due to several reasons. Including call extensions is basically ideal for those businesses which would want to receive more phone calls to drive customers to their store.

However, on the other hand there are many businesses out there which don’t give much significance to incoming phone calls from potential customers as it doesn’t benefit them much. Such advertisers might not favour this mandatory change brought about by Google. If in case you are among those people who want to turn off this feature before the upcoming update goes live, here are few steps you can take to avoid it.

  • Go to the Ad extensions’ tab
  • Select the option ‘View: automated extension report’ and scroll down to ‘automated extension options (advanced)’ and then click on ‘Edit’.
  • Lastly, select the option ‘Do not use specific automated extensions with this account’

You will need to follow the above steps in case you want to opt out of the automatic inclusion of call extensions to your mobile ad. On the other hand, if you already have call extensions in place, in that case you don’t need to do anything. This update will not affect you in any way. It is very much understood that anywebsite designing company in Delhi as well as a SEO company in Delhi needs to select Delhi and NCR as the preferred geographical locations when setting up your Adwords campaign.

Calls can also be considered as one of the indicators of conversion in Google Adwords. The fact that stands out as of today is that call extensions do have the potential of increasing the click through rates up to 8%. They are reported in the main call extension report. The advertiser will be able to see all the numbers being used for call extensions in one precise location.

Besides all this, the advantages of having call extensions are that they don’t cost advertisers any additional amount of money for additional clicks. They are a great way to help in Google Adwords performance. Adding value to the overall business goals is another objective of call extensions and it also proves to be an awesome way to understand potential lead behaviour.
