Just as people have got used to the concept of SEO (search engine optimisation),How to Create Awesome SEO Content Articles and gained an understanding of the value of strategically placed keywords to make it work, the rules have yet again changed.

Traditionally, all that was required to create effective SEO content was to repeat the same keyword in the title, H1 and a few times in the story or content. Here’s the thing…keyword repetition is dead!

The best route to create effective SEO content is to:

  1. Repeat the keyword in the title, H1 and once in the copy.
  2. Research related keywords and place them in the article.
  3. Create effective content!

When I say “Create effective content” what I mean is create content that isinteresting and relevant to the user. For example, insert pictures, videos and links to relevant websites. If you have a page about ‘top 5 best computer games’ create content for it following the first 2 rules above and insert links, videos and pictures to the computer games to create effective content.

Moreover, if you have two pages that are similar enough in intent and content, combine them! For example, if you have a page about ‘computer games’ and another about ‘video games’, why not combine them to a page about “Computer & Video Games”?

Search engines have become so advanced that they are able to detect if content is valuable by how the user responds to it e.g. through Facebook likes, Twitter tweets, sharing a link to a story and so on. This also indicates a positive response to the content, which will prompt the search engines to rank your page higher.

Search engines can also see whether a user navigates from that page to others on a website, how long they stay on the site for, how effective the site navigation is and where it is positioned. Informative content, advertising and pictures also affect site rankings.

While the use of advertising is encouraged – especially for those diligent enough to create a profitable blog by maximising the benefit of this tool – too many display ads can clutter a page and act as a deterrent to the user.

All this points to the advantage of consulting an expert in SEO to advise on content, marketing and style within your specified budget. Every client is unique and packages can be designed accordingly.

Achieving realistic SEO returns is a long-term goal, however, so be prepared for a three- to six-month investment in order to get the most out of it.
