Thanks to a big ace, Osaka champion Marion Bartoli managed to beat Ksenia Pervak in two sets at the Kremlin Cup, and is now moving to the quarterfinals, where she will be facing another Russian in Elena Vesnina, “I really do not think of it,” Bartoli said. “I’m just trying to fight for every point when I’m on the court and I try to play the best I can. And then we’ll see where it takes me.” Said Bartoli after her victory over Pervak, and if she beats Vesnina, she will be securing the last possible spot at the WTA Championships, which will be held in Istanbul next week.

Texas and St Louis expect better performances from starting pitchers
Cardinals and Rangers are having problems with their starting pitchers, are neither had a starter to pitch more than 6 innings during their respective league championship matches, and the way things are, things can go just about the same at the World Series, “Any starting pitcher would say that if you don’t go six innings, you feel like you let your team down,” were the words of Jaime Garcia, who will start for St Louis (winning the series 1-0) at game 2.

Now NBA players and owners want a 53% BRI
First the players wanted 53% of the total basketball related income, and then the owners came with a 50-50 split proposal, but it seems like the owners are now looking the same percentage the players want, and with both sides now requesting a 53 percent, it is hard to tell when a new collective bargain agreement is going to be signed, as this means that if the owners win and they take the 53%, it will signify a10% reduction for the players when it comes to the last CBA agreement both sides signed and which expired recently, where the players had a 57% percent of BRI.

Hoyer likely to move to Chicago
General Manager Jeff Hoyer has been interviewing hitting coaches for the Padres for some time now, but it seems like he won’t be there to see if his negotiations are going to turn out fruitful for the San Diego team, as there are strong rumors about him being hired by his former boss, Theo Epstein, as the Cubs president of baseball operations, and if this is true, current Hoyer’s assistant GM Jason McLeod is also expected to make a move for Chicago.
