Corel Draw is very useful software to draw different images and objects. It is simple, even the beginners in graphic designing can produce amazing images. Now we are going to learn how to make a basketball court’s image by the help of Corel Draw.
The first thing you must know that which tools you are going to use for the basketball court, so here are the tools names:
· Pick Tool (spacebar)
· Rectangular Tool (F6)
· Ellipse Tool (F7)
· 2-Point Line Tool
· Color palette
· Text Tool (F8)
· Parallel Dimension Tool
Now with the help of these tools, we will make a perfect basketball court, explaining the dimensions of the live basketball court too.
Step 1: Draw a rectangle with the help of rectangular tool. The shortcut key for this tool is F6. Now press space bar to select the rectangle and fill orange color from the color palette. To fill the color in the rectangle use left mouse button and to change the color of the outline use right mouse button.
Step2: Draw a straight line in the center of the rectangle by using 2-point line tool.
Step 3: Now select the Ellipse tool. From the property bar you can change the value. By default the value will be 270 degrees. Change it to 180 degrees because we want to draw a semi circle. Draw a semi circle and then rotate it so that the base line of the semi circle could be equivalent to the left side line of the rectangle. Select the semi circle and press Ctrl + D. You will get a copy of the selected shape. Now use mirroring effect from the property bar and drag this semi circle to the right side of the rectangle.
Step 4: Following the same method as mentioned in step 2, draw a small semi circle in such a way that the center point of the curved line should touch the center of the big semi-circle’s curved line. Use mirroring techniques for right side too.
Step 5: Select the small semi-circle and press Ctrl + D. drag the copy at the center of the rectangle, touching the line drawn at the center of the rectangle. Take another copy use mirroring and place it on the side of center line, equal as the other semi-circle is placed.
Step 6: Use text tool and click on the line where you want to adjust the text. Write your text and define standard dimensions of the live basketball court. If you just want to mention the dimensions of the image you have drawn, you can use “parallel dimension” tool and “Angular dimension tool”.
Note: if the color palette is not available at the right side of the interface, you can go to windows menu and move the mouse pointer over the default color palette option, a menu will appear you can select CMYK color palette or any other. These instructions are given for Corel Draw X5.
