Boston and NY 3-game series starts tonight
With their seventh straight victory,MLB, Hiroki Kuroda, Braylon Edwards And More Articles the Yankees are now head to head with the Red Sox at the top of the American League East Division, which makes their weekend series even more interesting. Both teams currently have a record of 68-42, while the rest of the squads at the AL all have more than 50 losses, with Tampa Bay being third with ten matches behind New York and Boston. The series between the two teams will be hosted by the Red Sox at Fenway Park with the first of 3 games starting tonight, and since Boston lost to the visiting Indians in their past match, the Yankees have real chances of taking the lead of the division if they manage to win on the road.

Kuroda stays with Dodgers
One of the best pitchers at the MLB, Hiroki Kuroda decided to stay with the Dodgers in despite of receiving substantial offers from World Series contenders, but it seems like the Japanese player is quite content with his decision, as he feels that his personal values are more important than winning titles, and although some critics might not fully grasp his decision, he might as well help the struggling Los Angeles team to become a contender soon.

Johan Santana and shoulder problems
Mets ace Johan Santana seems to be far away from full recovery as the surgery on his left shoulder has had chronic fatigue as a result and with things like that, it is difficult to say if he will be ready to return any time this season. Santana, who was been practicing with the team, has said that he’s feeling a lack of strength on his shoulder and now the pitcher is expecting the results of some recent tests in order to determine when he will be able to play for good.

Edwards sings with 49ers
Wide receiver Braylon Edwards is officially a former Jets player, as he just signed a one-year contract with the 49ers worth $3.5 million, and with his addition, the San Francisco team now has 3 top tean 2005 overall picks in Edwards (number 3), quarterback Alex Smith (number one) and cornerback Carlos Rogers (number nine). The player will certainly feel quite comfortable at the 49ers since the head coach for the team is Jim Harbaugh, who, just as Edwards, was a football star for the University of Michigan.
