Selecting The Perfect Golf School For You

Tips on the best golf schools for you.

So you’re among the 25 million Americans who have taken up the sport.  Congratulations!  But you’ve decided that you want to be more than just a recreational player.  You’re ready to take it to the next level.  It’s a worthwhile goal.  You’ll likely need the help of some seasoned experts to make your dream come true.  Golf school is a place you will want to check out—they have the equipment, personnel, and other resources to help you really get your game “off the ground”.

Many golf schools are part of a complete vacation getaway so that in between your lessons, you and your loved ones can spend time relaxing and enjoying life.  Other schools are designed so you can travel out during the weekends.  This is much more feasible for working men who are holding down full-time jobs and have the weekend off.

Some golf schools focus their attention on both the full swing and the short game.  Others focus equally on the player’s mental game, full swing, short game, and playing out on the golf course.  Many people say that any good golf school will spend at least 30% of the time working on improving your short game.  Also, most of your golf schools will have high-tech devices which can let you analyze your swing.  Using video analysis combined with computer swing models, teachers give students a chance to see problem areas.

Another sign of a good golf school is how much they concentrate on post-training feedback and support.  It’s one thing to attend a summer golf school.  It’s another when they let you call once the training is over and let you ask questions.  Some locations even let you send in film of yourself for analysis once you’ve had ample opportunity to practice and engrain what you’ve learned in your daily golf routine.

Fees will vary and include different amenities.  At some golf schools, the fee includes food and accommodations.  At other locations, it may not.  Some places will have lodging right there on the site.  Others assume you will make reservations at an inn or motel that is close by.  Also, the cost of signing up during the off season should be less than during golf season.  So keep all this in mind.

There’s one more thing to consider about golf school.  Their job is not to do the work for you—it’s to teach you the skills to do for yourself.  In other words, you can lead a horse to water, but you can’t make him drink.  You have to practice, practicePsychology Articles, practice!  No instructor will be able to make you into a really good player unless you’re willing to commit the time and effort it takes to improve.
