What’s Great about Dubai Sports City? Amidst
an area of five million square meters the Dubai Sports
City is home to sports
academies and stadiums, retail space, golf courses, residential apartments and
villas, and malls dedicated to sports, amongst other things. With this year
seeing a partial opening, sporting enthusiasts from all over the globe wait for
the 2010 completion of the project. DSC
will have within it David Lloyd's Tennis
Academy, the Butch Harmon School of
Golf and the Manchester
United Soccer
School. The International Cricket Council’s London headquarters have now moved to the Dubai Sports
City, and it is also to see the launch
of the ICC Global Cricket
Academy. The World Hockey
Academy in collaboration
with the International Hockey Federation is to provide professional training
out of the specially designed hockey stadium. Ernie Els, one of the world’s best golfers of
today, has designed the Dunes, an 18-hole golf course. The cricket stadium,
which can hold over 25,000 people, has seen the involvement of the
International Cricket Council through the entire planning and execution phase,
to make sure it complies with specifications required to hold international
fixtures. The indoor stadium, designed for sports such as basketball,
volleyball, netball, ice hockey and indoor hockey, can hold 10,000 people. This
indoor stadium would also be used for staging live shows and concerts. The
multipurpose outdoor stadium is designed for sports like football and rugby, as
well as track-and-field events. An outdoor hockey stadium with a capacity to
hold 5,000 people has also been designed. An Olympic size swimming pool is also
part of the set up. The
residential aspect of the DSC is varied and widespread. It has homes along the
waterfront, homes along a canal built using different cultures of architecture,
high-rise apartment buildings, and for the golfing enthusiast, a community
comprising of villas along the golf course. Centers for recreation, parks,
jogging tracks, walkways for pedestrians, restaurants, a multiplex,
restaurants, cafes and retail outlets, are all part of the infrastructure that
is in place. As is the case with freehold properties across Dubai, the Dubai Sports City also has an eclectic mix of very expensive houses
and houses that offer value for money. Buying
property in the Dubai
Sport City
is a very good option, whether you wish to stay there, run your business out of
there, use the property as investment or use it as a holiday home. Situated in
the heart of one of the world’s most attractive tourist destination, Dubai land, the DSC is
close to the beach. The Dubai
International Airport
is only a short drive away, too. With so many things going for the Dubai Sports City Article Tags: Dubai Sports Source: Free Articles from ArticlesFactory.com
